Short Poems
Broken Butterfly
A wingless creature
Fading with every beat
Its colors losing hue
Till it’s no longer complete
Tainted Love
Bruises on skin
Hearts black and blue
Love that once felt pure
Now tainted and untrue
Chained
Can’t breathe or move
Trapped in invisible chains
Mental torture ensues
As I’m bound in this pain
Silent Screams
Words that can’t be said
Emotions that can’t be expressed
A scream that’s trapped inside
Leaving me feeling oppressed
Medium Poems
Broken Promises
You promised so much,
but delivered so little.
You said you’d always be there,
but now, you’re nowhere to be found.
You promised unconditional love,
but it was all a charade.
Now I’m left here, broken and alone,
my heart shattered by your deceitful ways.
The Weight of Words
Words have a weight to them,
a power to lift or crush a soul.
They can be used as weapons,
to hurt and wound those we love.
Or they can be used to heal,
to uplift and inspire those around us.
Let us choose our words wisely,
and use them to spread love and kindness.
Silent Suffering
Silent suffering, hidden pain,
a burden too heavy to bear.
We put on a smile and pretend everything’s okay,
when really, we’re struggling deep down inside.
But we don’t want to burden others with our problems,
so we suffer in silence, suffocating in our own despair.
Let us speak out, let us seek help,
for there is no shame in asking for a helping hand.
Long Poems
The Cycle of Abuse
In the darkness of the night
The screams and cries, such a fright
A mother and child, in deep despair
A life of abuse, so beyond repair
The father’s anger, it knows no bounds
Hitting and hurting, with no remorse found
The mother tries to shield her child
Hoping and praying, this won’t go wild
But the cycle of abuse, it takes its toll
The child grows up, with a wounded soul
Memories of pain, etched in their mind
And the scars they bear, are hard to find
Years go by, and life goes on
But deep down inside, there’s still a con
The fear and shame, they still remain
And it’s hard to break free, from the mental chain
The child now a parent, a family of their own
Trying their best, to never be known
As the Abuser, their father before
Breaking the cycle, forevermore
But the scars are deep, and the pain is real
The emotional wounds, never fully heal
The memory of that life, never forgotten
But with love and support, it can be gotten
Let’s break the cycle, for generations to come
Let’s teach love and respect, and not just some
For every child deserves, a life without abuse
Let’s break the cycle, it’s time we choose.
