Light up the candles, let them glow
It’s time for Chanukah, don’t you know?
For eight whole days we celebrate

The Maccabees fought, so they say

After years of war, they finally won
And when they entered the Temple, the sun
Had set, and there was just one

The holiday is filled with cheer
As we gather with family near
