Thanksgiving Eve
Twas the night before Thanksgiving
And all through the house
The aroma of cooking
Had me begging for a grouse
The turkey was brining
The pies were all set
The cranberry sauce was chilling
My nerves were a fret
While visions of stuffing
Danced in my head
I prayed all this cooking
Wouldn't end with me in bed
But I couldn't help smiling
As I basted with glee
For tomorrow my loved ones
Would be dining with me.

Grateful Thanks
Twas the night before Thanksgiving
And all through my heart
I felt gratefulness stirring
For all I've been a part
The blessings of family
The joys of this land
The provision of sustenance
By my fellow man
For all that I've been given
I must give thanks too
And remember to share it
With those who are true
So let us eat heartily
And let our voices rise
In singing our thankfulness
Beneath the open skies.

The Great Feast
Twas the night before Thanksgiving
And all through the town
The ovens were baking
The turkey was round
The tables were set
With plates and with cups
The chairs were all placed
For each wandering pup
And when the time came
For the supper to start
We all gathered round
With a beat in our heart
We filled up our plates
With mashed potatoes and greens
And couldn't stop eating
Until we were keen
Then we sat back with a sigh
Our stomachs so full
And let out a cheer
For a Thanksgiving so cool.

The Feast Before Thanks: A Tale of Gratitude and Good Eats
'Twas the night before Thanksgiving, and all through the house,
The aromas of cooking filled every nook and cranny, no doubt,
The turkey was stuffed and in the oven with care,
In hopes that guests soon would be there.
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of mashed potatoes danced in their heads,
And Mama in her apron, and I in my cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter's nap.
But lo and behold, what was that I heard?
A commotion outside, interrupting my slumber absurd!
I sprang from my bed to see what was the fuss,
When out in the yard, there arose quite a ruckus.
And what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a group of wild turkeys, with nothing to fear,
They strutted and gobbled, and made quite a scene,
A sight so peculiar, it felt like a dream.
But soon the doorbell rang, and in trooped the guests,
All with dishes to share, and their spirits at their best,
The table was set, a magnificent spread,
Roast veggies, dinner rolls, and cranberry bread.
And of course, the pièce de résistance, the turkey so grand,
Carved up expertly, by our own private hand,
The meal was enjoyed, with laughter and tales,
A feast to remember, a story to regale.
And so we sat, with full bellies and hearts,
Thankful for our blessings, each playing their part,
We raised a glass, to family and friends,
To love, joy, and happiness, and all that it lends.
As the night drew to a close, and the guests trickled out,
We said our goodbyes, and gave many a shout,
The leftovers were saved, for a midnight snack,
A delicious reminder, of the feast that we had.
And so another Thanksgiving, came to an end,
But the memories will linger, and the warmth extend,
We'll cherish this time, with those we hold dear,
And look forward to next year, with gratitude and cheer.
