In ego's shadow, pride does hide,
A force within, so hard to bide.
It whispers lies of grander worth,
Inflating self, suppressing mirth.
Yet in its grasp, we often find,
The chains that bind our troubled mind.

The mirror shows what lies beneath,
The ego's grasp, a hidden sheath.
In reflections, true and clear,
We see the self, both far and near.
To temper ego, find the way,
Through humble steps, a brighter day.

An inner battle fought with grace,
To keep the ego in its place.
With every thought and every deed,
We curb the ego's endless need.
Through self-awareness, strength is found,
A balanced life, on solid ground.

A peacock strutted with a big head,
Showing off his feathers, he said.
"I'm the best, just look at me,"
But tripped and fell, oh what glee!
The animals laughed and said, "Nice show,
Your ego's high, but your grace is low!"
He stood up proud and shook his tail,
"I'll be more careful on the trail!"

A frog croaked loud about his leap,
"I can jump high, I'm quite the heap!"
He showed his friends with a mighty bound,
But landed flat on muddy ground.
They laughed and ribbited with cheer,
"Your ego's big, but your jump's unclear!"
He grinned and said, "I'll try once more,
And land with style, that's for sure!"

In the mind where self resides,
Ego, life's guides.
A touch so strong, a heart so pure,
Ego, life's allure.
From pride to growth, a journey grand,
Ego, life's hand.
A symbol of self, a sign of grace,
Ego, life's embrace.
In its presence, truth is found,
Ego, all around.
Reflections deep, pure and bright,
Ego, in the light.
In its mirror, clarity,
